February Update

Dear friends, family, past and present supporters,

Thank you for enabling me to have the incredible privilege of serving on the Seattle Port Commission for the past seven years.  I’m proud of the significant advances the Port has made in its relationships with communities, labor, businesses, tribal governments, and the environment during this time.

I’m seeking re-election for a 3rd (and final) term on the Commission.  I want to see some of the work I started to completion and to use my institutional knowledge to help the Port to continue to do well so it can do good.

Public service is a very rewarding but challenging undertaking.  This is especially true at the Port where a five-member commission can have so much impact on our region’s commerce, communities, and the climate.

I’ll work to assure the Port remains competitive so that it can support living wage careers and help those communities who have been furthest from opportunities.  I’ll also continue to work to reduce the Port’s impacts on communities living near the airport and seaport.   Where I can make the greatest contribution to our region is by helping to protect and restore the environment - from kelp to killer whales and the climate.  And I’ll continue to expand strategic partnerships to accomplish these goals to help assure a just transition to the jobs of the future.

With your support I look forward to continuing to apply my professional background and experience on the Commission to advance the broadest public interest for another term.

I have already drawn three challengers, so I ask again for your support and to please share this email with you friends and colleagues.

Sincerely,
